As far as you remember we had a special post about self-driving cars which are able to transform people here and there. That was just a good intention then, that was just a small step towards the realization of self-driving cars.
So folks, soon the self driving cars are going to hit the roads of UK, starting in January 2015 but it will be a little while before commuters can actually use them.
The UK cities will place bids to become test-driving areas for driverless vehicles and out of the applicant pool only three cities will be chosen.
This new innovative technology-self driving car has been experimented on private roads by several engineering group including one from the Oxford University. The upcoming government-funded tests will mark the first time self-driving cars will be permitted on public roads, and test periods will last between 18 and 36 months.
The self-driving cars will bring new breath for moving from one place to another ‘cause driverless cars have huge potential to transform the UK’s transport network-they will improve safety, reduce congestion and lower emissions, particularly CO2,” transport minister Claire Perry said in a statement.
